PROFESSIONAL CREW RULES
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
_1. This is an invitational Competition, so we reserve the right to accept or deny participation of any CREW and encourage early register to ensure a spot in the competition.

2. REGISTRATION: First register ONLINE by creating an account Late entries may be accepted, however, they will incur an additional $5 fee (per person) if accepted.
3. CONFIRMATION: performance times are to be used as an approximate guideline only. All acts should be prepared to perform earlier than scheduled as may be requested by the backstage manager. Please report to the registration table a minimum of one hour prior to your first act for any additional information as may be necessary on the day of competition.

4. ENTRY FEES: CREW $50 ea
5. QUALIFICATIONS: This is a professional level category where the youngest crew member must be at least 10 years old. 60% of the routine must consist of group hip-hop & dance choreography. B-BOY CREWS WILL BE PERMITTED TO ENTER THIS CATEGORY
6. TIME LIMITS: each group has a maximum of 4.5 mins. A 10 second grace period will be allowed. Routines will be timed from the moment the music starts and until it stops.
7. SIZE OF GROUP: A minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 8
8. ADJUDICATION: You will be judged on: Choreography/Entertainment Technique/Execution Style & Originality
For a maximum possible score of 100 pts where scores will be taken to 2 decimal places.
9. VOTES: The Top three possibly four crews will battle during the finals. The audience has a vote, so make sure to have your support team there for you.
10. SCHEDULE: A rough draft of the Schedule will be posted online 2 weeks before the competition. If you mailed your registration in, a confirmation package will be sent to you 2 weeks prior to your competition date.
11. RE-DANCES are allowed if less then 80% of the routine was completed and it is a technical malfunction. If a re-dance is approved the group is still eligible for all awards.
12. Videotaping by individuals at any ARTISTS EMERGE competition is prohibited. Violations will result in disqualification of the affiliated organization. This rule will be strictly enforced to protect the integrity of individual choreography.
13. MUSIC: Music on CD is preferred but cassette tapes are acceptable. Clearly label music with crew name and music title. An easily accessible backup for all acts is also required to be in your possession during the show.
14. VENUE INFORMATION
There will be no smoking in competition or dressing areas. Smoking is limited to those areas designated by the facility. Food and drink are prohibited in the competition area, backstage/dressing area and seating sections of all facilities. Food and drink may be allowed inside buildings as permitted by individual venues.
Dressing area space must be shared by all competitors. No dressing space will be assigned to individual organizations unless designated.
Any person(s) who damages venue property either inside or outside, by either misuse or abuse will disqualify the entire organization with which he or she is affiliated. Any person(s) who causes damage as mentioned, assumes full financial responsibility for repair, replacement and/or restitution.
21. DISCLAIMERS
Any dancer competing in a dance competition takes certain incumbent risks. These include, but are not limited to, sprains, pulled muscles and broken bones. Participation in this competition indicates acceptance of such risks by performers. Therefore, ARTISTS EMERGE assumes no responsibility for personal injury or property loss. By entering an ARTISTS EMERGE competition, participants (i.e. dancers, teachers, choreographers) give their permission to ARTISTS EMERGE to use their photographs, videos and/or likeness in any ARTISTS EMERGE promotional effort without compensation.
ARTISTS EMERGE does not discriminate, nor tolerates discrimination of any kind. We believe that every individual should have an equal opportunity to compete within the framework of our rules and guidelines published above. PLEASE BE COURTEOUS TO YOUR FELLOW COMPETITORS. It is expected that all competitors and attendees will conduct themselves as ladies and gentlemen at all times, whether within the structure of the venue or within its immediate vicinity. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting themselves as they would in any theatre so as not to disturb the performers; by not talking during performances, not using cellular phones, entering and exiting viewing areas only between entries, etc. Inappropriate behavior will result in disqualification as determined by ARTISTS EMERGE onsite Directors.
